Frequently asked questions
Do I need a GP referral (impegnativa) for a specialist visit under the NHS agreement?
Yes. It is not possible to book an appointment under the National Health Service agreement without a referral from your GP.
How long do I have to wait for an appointment?
Depending on the specialties and the priority indicated on the referral, waiting times may vary. Urgent requests, duly noted in the medical prescription, have a preferential channel and are fulfilled more quickly. Non-urgent services are normally scheduled within short timeframes.
