How to book a surgical procedure

Booking methods

It is possible to schedule a procedure under agreement following a specialist assessment. To book, simply call the booking number or send an email to the relevant secretariat.

What is needed to book?

At the time of booking, please have at hand:

  • the general practitioner’s referral indicating the requested service
  • your health insurance card

Who can access the service?

To book a specialist visit under agreement, you must be enrolled in the National Health Service.

Access to the department

The Melittaklinik surgery department is located within our clinic in Bolzano: it includes specialist outpatient clinics, operating rooms, and an area dedicated to post-surgical hospitalization. Access is through the main lobby. At the Admissions desk, staff welcome patients for their appointments.

Hospitalization hours and organization

Scheduled surgeries take place from Monday to Friday. Depending on the type of procedure, admission may be day hospital, meaning discharge on the same day, or inpatient with an overnight stay of one or more nights. At the time of scheduling, you will receive the relevant information: arrival time, any preparation required, and an estimate of the length of stay.

Access procedures and rules for family members

The patient may be accompanied by a family member or care-giver up to the pre-operative area. After the procedure, visits in the ward are permitted.

Visits to inpatients are allowed every day at the following times:
3:30 pm to 5:00 pm
6:00 pm to 6:45 pm
